BYOB Dublin ‘13
Curated by Cats Byrne and Sarah Jane Finnegan
BYOB Dublin ’13 is an DIY curatorial format where artists collaborate on site to create a moving image experience. BYOB (bring-your-own-beamer) is a series of one night events that has been held in over 80 cities worldwide. BYOB Dublin ’13 will present visual artists and designers experimenting with new media and image at this one night only event at PP/S. The premise of BYOB is simple: Find a space, invite Artists and Designers and ask them to bring their projectors, all resulting in an exploration and celebration of the medium of projection.
BYOB was created Rafaël Rozendaal with the first edition of BYOB initiated by Anne de Vries & Rafael Rozendaal in Berlin, 2010.
“BYOB is a celebration of the new world we live in and a glimpse of what computing could look like in the future. Today the internet is confined to screens. Tomorrow information will surround us, composing our surfaces, defining our spaces, enmeshing itself with the ether. A moving image is never an object, and when it is coupled with the increased flexibility of portable projection, the realm of experience quickly expands.” Rafael Rozendaal
BYOB Dublin ’13 is curated by Cats Byrne and Sarah Jane Finnegan. Hosted by Pallas Projects/Studios.
