Matt’s work has been exhibited in Tiger Strikes Asteroid in New York, the Berkeley Art Museum in Berkeley, California, Embark Gallery in San Francisco, and Heiner Contemporary in Washington, DC, among other venues. He was recently featured in New American Paintings (#127 Pacific Coast Edition), and has also been featured in the Washington Post, the San Francisco Chronicle, the East Bay Express, KQED, ArtVoices Magazine, and other publications. His art writing has appeared online and in print, including in the Washington City Paper and New American Paintings, and in 2012 he was selected as finalist for the Andy Warhol Arts Writing Program. He was born and raised in Lima, Peru and received an MFA from UC Berkeley in 2015, where he served as a Lecturer in 2017. He is currently based in Dublin and teaches online through the University of Maryland University College.
