SHIFTINGS is a group exhibition that explores the confrontation between ideologies both past and present, and shows new work by Artists; Kevin Gaynor, Jamie Gilroy Barrett, Niall Linton, and Frank Prendergast.
This work documents the relationship between established social, and cultural systems in conflict with establishing structures that challenge their power. Through sculpture, installation, sound and video the exhibition reflects the tensions surrounding national, technological and cultural shifts in society today.
These four individual practices engage with cultural shifts, and systematic structures of power.
By bringing together these four pieces of work, a portrait is formed of the current geo-political shiftings taking place on the surface of this island, and the landmasses around it.
