Susan Buttner

Over the past 12 months Buttner was awarded the Fingal Artist Support Scheme Award

2023, which funded a residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, (where she

researched the French sculptor Camille Claudel at the Camille Claudel Museum). She

exhibited at The Library Project (group exhibition) ‘LOVE YOU MY SWEATY’ curated by Sara

Muthi and she also exhibited two sculptures at the 193 rd RHA Annual. She took part in the

live public performance ‘An Invitation To Love Unconditionally’ by Marina Abramović at the

Royal Academy of Arts, London. She was selected for the Fingal County Council Lough

Shinney Residency Award and she completed a new body of work, ‘AN INHERENT

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE BODY AND THE EARTH’, which saw her inviting the public to

Studio 10, at Pallas Projects/Studios, to engage in open conversation. These conversations

helped influence and inform the sculptures, paintings and performance film (made over a

seven-month period).
