Marian Balfe
Marian Balfe is an artist from the midlands of Ireland. Her practice is multidisciplinary and explores how painting, writing, sculpture, and printed ephemera may be used to reflect on place, relationships, identity, and value systems in Irish society.
Marian has a BA in Paint and Visual Culture from NCAD and a BA in Architectural Science from UCD. Recent exhibitions and projects include: Pallas for Palestine, Dublin (2024), Caring for Creativity, Roscommon Arts Centre (2024), RHA 93rd Annual, Dublin (2023), Sham Solitaire, Bealtaine Festival, Roscommon (2023), Muine Bheag Arts, Carlow (2022), WEAREFETISHISTS, Garter Lane, Waterford (2022), An Animate Land, Roscommon Arts Centre, (2022), Peripheries MEET, Gorey School of Art, Wexford (2022) and Royal Watercolour Society Open, Bankside, London (2022). Marian’s writing has been commissioned by Mirror Lamp Press (2024), Visual Artist Newsheet (2022), and Architecture Ireland (2019).
