Kym Tracey

Kym Tracey is a Visual Artist from Kildare with a degree in Fine Art Painting and Education from NCAD. Since graduating she has worked in Education and exhibited in galleries such as Hangtough Contemporary, The LAB gallery and DraÍocht gallery. She was also selected to hold a talk for the current final year Education students in NCAD at the beginning of this year.

In 2022 Kym took part in artist residencies in Germany and Iceland which has impacted the work she is creating now. Her work aims to challenge the line between nostalgia and discomfort. In particular she is interested in imagery rooted in magical realism and recent works have been reminiscent of Irish tradition. Kym is currently working on a new body of work for a solo exhibition happening Autumn 2024.
