  • Ian Nolan

    Ian Nolan is an Irish artist, living and working in Dublin, Ireland. Ian graduated in 2012 from the National College of Art and Design with a 1st Class Honours in the History of Art and Fine Art, receiving a commendation for his graduate thesis Outside of a Dog: A Phenomenological Perspective on the Built Environment. Specialising in Fine Art Painting, he was awarded the Model Niland Residency Award at the 2012 RDS Student Art Awards for his series of external interventions entitled Interruptions. In 2013 he took part in an group exhibition at The Model, Sligo entitled An Anatomical Chart of Love Pains curated by Seamus Kealy and has since being producing and exhibiting work both in Ireland and abroad. Ian has just completed a 2 week intensive residency with the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he produced a new body of work relating to the notion of public art as social intervention and the city-as-site. He is currently working towards applications for an MFA, which he hopes to undertake in 2015.
